Cedar Rapids rolls over Fargo, 5-2

The Fargo Force had trouble finding ways to stop the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, which beat Force, 5-2.

Dylan McLaughlin had two goals to lead Cedar Rapids to victory. McLaughlin's tallies came at 17:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cedar Rapids and on the power play 12:34 into the second to make the score 2-1 Cedar Rapids.

The RoughRiders stifled Fargo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Cedar Rapids additionally got points from Gavin Bayreuther, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cedar Rapids also got a goal from Eetu Karvinen as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cedar Rapids were Clay Anderson, Dylan Steman, Davey Middleton, Jack Rowe, Andrew Oglevie, Riley Bourbonnais, and Ian Brady, who contributed one a piece.

The Force were below their usual level of shot production, taking 15 shots compared to the 21.7 Fargo averages.

The Force were led by Gabe Guertler, who registered two goals. Guertler scored the first of his two goals at 47 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Michael Booth picked up the assist. Guertler's next tally made the score 5-2 Cedar Rapids with 4:34 left in the third period. Dave Gust provided the assist.

Chad Gatt made 13 saves for Cedar Rapids on 15 shots. The RoughRiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brendan Jensen recorded 24 saves for Fargo. The Force incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
