Dubuque rips Youngstown, 4-1

The Youngstown Phantoms had trouble finding ways to stop the Dubuque Fighting Saints, which beat Phantoms, 4-1.

Dubuque pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes.

The Fighting Saints were led by Jarrid Privitera, who had one goal. Privitera scored 3:48 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dubuque. Peter Quenneville assisted on the tally.

Dubuque's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Youngstown power plays.

Dubuque also had goals scored by Alex Fossen, who had one and Frank DiChiara, who had two. More assists for Dubuque came via Michael Downing, Matt Benning, Eric Freschi, and John Stevens, who contributed one a piece.

Youngstown barely challenged the opposing goaltender, taking only 13 shots on target to force 12 saves. Team.mascot's final shot tally was well below the team's average of 25.6 pucks on net per game. The Phantoms stifled the Fighting Saints' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Youngstown's offense operated below it season average. The Phantoms average 4.8 goals per game. Youngstown struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 22 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays.

The Phantoms were led by Mac MacSorley, who scored the team's only goal. MacSorley scored 8:47 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Dubuque. J.J. Piccinich provided the assist.

Dubuque's Arthur Brey stopped 12 shots out of the 13 that he faced. Sean Romeo made 21 saves for Youngstown on 24 shots.
