Fargo downs Sioux City, 6-3
Michael Booth finished with two points to lead the Fargo Force to a 6-3 victory over the Sioux City Musketeers.
Fargo was below its usual level of shot production, taking 17 shots compared to the 26.5 the Force average. Fargo's goal total was higher than its season average. The Force average 2.8 goals per game. Fargo's defensemen were a huge part of the offense, scoring two goals and taking eight shots.
Fargo also had goals scored by Neal Goff, who had two and Gabe Guertler, Dominic Toninato, and Jordan Nelson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Fargo were Chris Dienes, who had one and Brendan Harms, who had two.
Sioux City's offense rang up 41 shots on the Force's net.
The Musketeers were helped by Tanner Pond, who registered one goal. Pond scored short handed 1:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sioux City. Sioux City played down a man on David Goodwin's interference. Cam Brown also scored for Sioux City. In addition, Sioux City received assists from Dan Molenaar and Blake Heinrich, who contributed one a piece.
Fargo's Brendan Jensen stopped 38 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The Force incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kyle Hayton rejected 11 shots on goal for the Musketeers. Sioux City incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
